Privacy Policy

NewTracker ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

We operate exclusively in Canada and comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. What Information We Collect

We collect and process the following types of personal information:

  • Name and Email Address – Provided during account creation.

  • Banking Data – We use Plaid to import your financial data. This may include:

    • Bank account transactions (amounts, dates, descriptions)

    • Account and card details (e.g., last 4 digits of card numbers, expiration dates)

      Note:       We never store your bank login credentials. We only have read-only access to your financial data via Plaid.

  • Payment Information – When subscribing, your postal/ZIP code is collected for tax calculation purposes and is processed and stored securely by Stripe, our payment processor.

    • Other payment information might be collected by Stripe in order to process future bills.

2. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third-party services:

  • Stripe – Used to process payments. Stripe collects and stores your billing information securely. Please review Stripe’s privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain your account

  • To analyze and categorize your financial data (read-only)

  • To respond to your questions and support requests

  • To comply with legal or regulatory obligations

We do not:

  • Sell your information

  • Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes

  • Share your data with third parties beyond what is necessary for service delivery

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We only retain your personal and financial information for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law.

  • If you sign up for a free trial but do not subscribe, we will delete your data (including imported bank data) within one (1) month after the trial period ends.

  • If you subscribe but do not renew, we will retain your data for up to six (6) months after the end of your subscription in case you wish to reactivate your account. After that, all associated data will be permanently deleted.

At any time, you may request that we delete your personal data sooner by contacting us at contact@newtracker.ca. Upon verifying your identity, we will erase your data unless we are legally required to retain it.

 

5. Security

We take reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

As a Canadian user, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct any inaccuracies in your information

  • Withdraw your consent at any time

  • Request deletion of your personal information

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email.
