Terms of Service

Welcome to NewTracker ("we", "us", "our"). By using our website or services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the NewTracker platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and reside in Canada to create an account and use NewTracker. By using the service, you confirm that all registration information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. Service Description

NewTracker is a personal finance tool that allows you to analyze and organize your financial transactions by importing read-only banking data via Plaid.

We only access your financial information with your explicit consent, and only in a read-only manner. We do not store your banking credentials.

NewTracker may also provide AI-generated financial insights and summaries based on your data.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree not to share your account or use anyone else’s credentials to access the service.

4. Data Access and Privacy

By using NewTracker, you authorize us to access financial data through Plaid, a third-party service provider. This includes transaction history, account details, and other read-only data.

We process payment information via Stripe. When subscribing, Stripe may collect billing details including your ZIP/postal code for tax purposes.

Your data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

5. Free Trial and Subscription

NewTracker may offer a free trial period. After the trial, access to features will require a paid subscription.

  • Billing is handled securely by Stripe.

  • By subscribing, you agree to recurring charges unless you cancel before the renewal date.

  • Prices are subject to applicable taxes based on your ZIP/postal code.

6. Cancellation and Deletion

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

  • If you cancel during your trial, no charges will apply.

  • If you do not subscribe after the trial, your data will be deleted within one (1) month.

  • If your subscription lapses and is not renewed, your data will be deleted after six (6) months unless you reactivate.

You may also request immediate deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the platform

  • Share offensive, fraudulent, or harmful content

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or accounts

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating this policy.

8. Ownership and Intellectual Property

All content and software on NewTracker, including the brand, design, and code, are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

You retain ownership of your own financial data and personal information.

9. Limitation of Liability

NewTracker is provided "as-is" and "as available". We make no warranties about the accuracy or reliability of data displayed, especially data imported from third-party providers like Plaid.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages resulting from your use of the service.

 AI-generated insights and summaries are provided for informational purposes only and may not always be accurate, complete, or up to date. They do not constitute financial, legal, or professional advice. You are solely responsible for any decisions made based on this information 

10. Third-Party Services

We rely on Plaid for secure access to your financial data and Stripe for payment processing. Your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms:

We also use Claude (Anthropic) to generate financial insights. Your use of these AI-generated features is subject to Anthropic’s applicable terms and policies.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you via email or in-app notification. Continued use after such changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario.

13. Usage of Artificial Intelligence

NewTracker uses third-party artificial intelligence services to generate financial insights and summaries.

By using these features, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated outputs are automated and may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • These insights are provided for informational purposes only and are not financial advice
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
  • Your use of such insights is at your own risk

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue AI features at any time without notice.
